We know from experience that numbers aren’t Bette Midler’s strong suit, so we can understand why she might settle for simple quantity over quality when it comes to evaluating all things government. We wonder if in her world Congress is a busy workshop of happy elves hammering out one law after another on a conveyor belt.
Seriously, a new law a day shouldn’t be too much to ask. And while we’re at it, how about a few thousand more pages of tax code. Get busy, people!
