John Boehner appoints Candice Miller as committee chair, is branded misogynist

Yesterday, Twitchy reported on a growing call from conservatives for House Majority Leader John Boehner to simply walk away from the White House’s “tax more, spend more” bid to avoid hitting the fiscal cliff. The logic behind that strategy? For one, many reason that Republicans will be saddled with the blame no matter what happens. If anyone doubts that fact of political life, today’s news from Capitol Hill provides a prime example.

Today Boehner announced that Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich.) will chair the House Administration Committee. It’s not the most exciting development this week, but the media quickly found an angle: Boehner buckled under criticism that all GOP chairs were white men. But naming Miller chair would be a good thing then, right? Oh, so wrong.
