Beyoncé shoots video in UN Assembly Hall for World Humanitarian Day

Singer Beyoncé Knowles shot a video for her song “I Was Here” before a live audience at the United Nations General Assembly Hall tonigh. The video will premiere on August 19 in honor of World Humanitarian Day.

Knowles was joined by songwriter Diane Warren.

World Humanitarian Day was created in response to the bombing of the U.N. offices in Baghdad on August 19, 2003. Organizers hope the video will reach 1 billion people. The U.N. says the “I Was Here” theme “is about making your mark by doing something good, somewhere, for someone else.”
