New York Times columnist says Disney has to find a warm-weather alternative to Florida

So Disney World has been stripped of special privileges that no other corporation in Florida enjoys and never should have been instituted in the first place. It’s funny how Democrats like AOC vehemently oppose tax breaks to attract new businesses, but can’t see why Disney shouldn’t be able to act as a self-governing entity forever because of a 1967 land development deal.

We’ve already heard a lot of people saying Disney World should get out of Florida — not that it will help them much when Ron DeSantis is president. In April last year, Brian Taylor Cohen said that Disney should move out of Florida and crash and burn Gov. Ron DeSantis’ August re-election bid. That would be a pretty quick move. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis tried to lure Disney away from Florida’s “authoritarian socialist attacks.” Keith Olbermann said Disney World should pull up stakes and relocate to, say, Puerto Rico.

Now New York Times opinion columnist Farhad Manjoo is saying that long-term, Disney has to find a warm-weather alternative in a more business-friendly state.

Yeah, Puerto Rico certainly proved it has the infrastructure in place and a solid electrical grid.

Manjoo must think Florida is going to remain red for the long term. These people seriously think the solution is for Disney World to just move somewhere else.
