Democrats argue that a Parental Bill of Rights would terrorize teachers and kill students

A big component of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s victory over Terry McAuliffe was his appeal to parents with schoolchildren. McAuliffe, sometimes sharing a campaign stage with AFT president Randi Weingarten, dug in his heels and declared that parents shouldn’t have any input into what their children are taught.

Youngkin, along with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his Parental Rights in Education bill, made the phrase “parents’ rights” a dirty word in liberal circles, with Juan Williams saying it was just code for “white race politics.” Teachers have said that the parents’ rights movement is “literally just fascism.”

We’ve written about Rep. Hakeem Jeffries a couple of times already today, but he was among the House Democrats spewing every leftist talking point about the proposed Parental Bill of Rights, which would require teachers to post their curriculum, affirm the right of parents to speak at school board meetings, and inform parents of violent activity at school (such as rapes in the girls’ restroom).

Townhall has posted a lot of clips from today’s hearing; we’re going to post the greatest hits, which argue that teachers will be terrorized by a vocal but extreme minority of parents and that a Parental Bill of Rights would end up killing children.

Seriously, dude?

So these “extreme MAGA” parents comprise a “vocal and extreme minority.” It’s a good thing Attorney General Merrick Garland never dissolved his task force targeting these domestic terrorists.

Of course, to Rep. Morgan McGarvey, cutting off their breasts is being nice to kids.

They really think that your children belong to them and the public schools. And they’ll fight any effort to get your kids out of public schools.

Any fact-checkers working today? Glenn Kessler? Daniel Dale? PolitiFact? AP? Reuters?

Why didn’t any of them blow up the sexually explicit illustrations from “Gender Queer,” put them on an easel, and explain why it’s so important that it be available in middle school libraries?
