Pre-ordering the new 'Harry Potter' game is making a donation to 'actively harm trans people'

Just as a refresher, the uproar over “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling seems to have started here, with her use of the hashtag #IStandWithMaya. That would be Maya Forstater, a British woman who was fired from her job for tweets deemed anti-trans. The anti-trans tweets in question? They dared to state that “there are two sexes, male and female” and “it is impossible to change sex.”

That’s what got Rowling “canceled” — tweeting that sex is real.

There followed plenty of pieces in the media about what “Harry Potter” fans should do … burn their books? Order a copy from a bookbinder who was custom-making “Harry Potter” books with the author’s name removed?

Now there’s the problem of “Hogwarts Legacy,” an upcoming video game set in the “Harry Potter” universe. Is it OK to buy?
