Women don't realize that if the GOP takes power, they'll be going through what Iranian women are going through now

Here’s a tweet from a rando that’s been getting a lot of attention; Politibunny laid out the rules for covering randos earlier today, so we’ll assume you’re familiar. And if you were reading Monday night, you learned that Democratic strategist and Lincoln Project alumnus Kurt Bardella is wondering just how soon Republicans will start floating a dress code for women. The answer is never, although we did like the suggestion that there be a professional dress code for teachers. Are purple hair and a nose piercing required to get hired by public schools these days?

And speaking of dress codes for women, it was Democrats like Bardella who had a fit when Democrat Kyrsten Sinema presided over the Senate wearing a denim vest. The Bulwark folks thought she should be ashamed, and Ana Navarro suspected that “every black woman and Latina” knew what she meant when she said that Sinema’s denim vest was racist. No, for real.

Dems can be real sticklers over what women wear, but they seem to think that if Republicans take the House and perhaps the Senate in November, women in America will be going through what women in Iran are going through now — which is risking their lives to protest the death of a woman who was beaten to death by morality police for not wearing a hijab. Yes, the GOP will mandate that women dress like handmaids or be beaten.

Yeah, a few people wouldn’t mind a dress code for Democrat women. Have you seen them at protests?
