We already did a post on MSNBC’s Chris Hayes reacting to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flying two planes of about 50 illegal immigrants into Martha’s Vineyard — Hayes said it was “deeply deeply sick and dehumanizing to fling human beings somewhere vindictively.” Really? Sick and dehumanizing? Go cry into your sweater some more.
A day later, Hayes is still appalled at this “disgusting stunt” being pulled by DeSantis and wants to know if they’ll do the same for Cuban asylum seekers. Cubans already have asylum if they manage to reach land, but last summer, President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas made it known that any Cubans fleeing to the U.S. by boat wouldn’t be welcomed to stay but rather would be sent to third countries.
DHS Secretary @AliMayorkas threatens fleeing Cuban refugees: "Allow me to be clear, if you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States … Again, I repeat, do not risk your life attempting to enter the United States illegally. You will not come to the United States." pic.twitter.com/gSsLbbCuSH

Sounds kind of like Vice President Kamala Harris saying, “Do not come.” Of course, if a Cuban were to cross the border on land into Texas, he’d be fine.
If Hayes is so worried about the fate of Cuban asylum seekers, maybe he should have a word with the Biden administration.
No, because the law passed by our representatives allows them asylum. https://t.co/jjPvgp4SZ7

Cubans, by definition, get asylum automatically.

Why would they?
There's organizations set up to handle them in Florida. https://t.co/kSCevEWIYw

Rachel doesn't understand that there are asylum laws already on the books for Cuban refugees. These people are monsters https://t.co/8lKxJn5ADh

Everyone wants to sanctuary city

What “disgusting” stunt? Oh, it bothers you to have illegal immigrants to be America’s problem — not just Texas, Arizona, and Florida? https://t.co/gjHFnmE8E2

Please describe the disgusting aspect of sending immigrants to a sanctuary state that has proudly claimed it welcomed these people. https://t.co/cP9x2OoaR9

"Oh, no, whatever you do, don't send us to Martha's Vineyard!"
Except in Spanish, I guess.

Or Haitians?

Mayorkas said the same went for Haitians, so they’d be sent to third countries — not by DeSantis, but by Biden’s DHS.
