Way back in 2017, we had a glimpse into where things were headed when we saw the restroom signs at Hampshire College that read, “Restroom With Urinals” and “Restroom Without Urinals.” Flash forward to 2022, and schools were installing tampon dispensers in boys’ rooms to comply with the Menstrual Dignity Act.
Here’s a shot from the American Political Science Association’s #APSA2022 conference asking attendees, out of respect, not to use the urinals in the all-gender restroom.
I am not at APSA, but I saw this via text and question the idea that asking people not to use urinals is in fact an act of respect for all attendees. pic.twitter.com/OOojmEeKzI

It's more like an act of a fealty to a militant minority of attendees.

Nope. Sorry.

So, not only removing a safe single sex space for both sexes, reducing the facilities able to be used by people who need sex separation.
But also reducing facilities by not allowing the majority of facilities in one of the spaces to be used at all?
This is not progressive!

I am not there either, but I remember seeing these signs the last time I did go (2018). They've been on this train for quite a while now.

Incidentally, I'd like to see this bathroom at a busy moment when there's a line of impatient people waiting for a stall while the urinals go ignored.

Equity requires that men wait as long as women to pee.
— RealJeffGfetus (@RealJeffGfetus) September 15, 2022
If only we could devise a system whereby urinals are only placed in restrooms used by people with similar urinary anatomy who widely accept the use of urinals. But that's obviously not practical…

That would be literal Nazism.

I don't have a dick but I would make a point of somehow using that urinal.

So pee all over the seats it is then

If they really meant it they’d have the urinals removed. And there had better be a tampon dispenser in there.
