As Twitchy reported recently, the Sesame Place theme park in Philadelphia is under fire after a video showing “Rosita” apparently blowing off two black girls went viral.
#BabyPaige & her cute lil friends went to @SesamePlace this weekend to celebrate Paige's 4th birthday & this is how #SesamePlace treated these beautiful Black children. I'm HOT. pic.twitter.com/wATjpRzUF1

Sesame Workshop said that it would “conduct bias training and a thorough review of the ways in which they engage families and guests.” We’re not sure what’s happened to whoever was in that Rosita costume … they’re probably in hiding. Oh, and by the way, the attorney for the girls’ mother says unless there is “substantial change” at the park, she may file a lawsuit. We’re not sure what the charge would be.
Now, Mediaite is reporting that the Congressional Black Caucus has become involved and has asked for a meeting with the operators of Sesame Place, officially making it a national incident.

A) Congressional Black Caucus "is requesting an audience with Sesame Place Park President & General Manager Cathy Valeriano to discuss the changes, plans of action, and training the park plans to implement."

B) CBC says "Over the past week, we’ve seen multiple glaring examples of racism coming from the park, including the viral video in which two beautiful little Black girls were blatantly rejected by a character they idolized while white children were embraced"

Dumbest thing ever, and an irresponsible waste of tax payer dollars.

Sesame Place is now in the position of having to prove that it’s not systematically racist, even though it seems to suggest it is by conducting bias training for its employees.
We’d love to see 10 more seconds of video, because the girls were apparently heartbroken. What did they do?
