At Pride Month event, Dr. Jill Biden names and shames those states where rights are under attack

The White House is holding a Pride Month event Wednesday, and President Joe Biden’s opening act was his wife, first lady Dr. Jill Biden. We know that Biden is a big supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and maybe even an honorary member. Remember when she painted giant valentine hearts with words like “Love” and “Courage” and “Healing” and planted them on the White House lawn … that was really, really gay.

There’s still plenty of prejudice and discrimination out there, though, as some states are passing legislation banning minors from irreversible “gender-affirming” surgery. Biden named and shamed some of those states in her remarks:

And in small towns and big cities, “kid-friendly drag” shows still lurk. We would love to get Biden’s review of Christina Aguilera’s “family-friendly” Pride in the Park performance where her backup dancers played with her huge green strap-on dildo. Why doesn’t the White House have a similar pride celebration?
