Even after Thursday afternoon’s press conference, there’s still so much we don’t know about the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. A lot of liberals are bringing out the tired line that it’s easier to buy a gun than to … vote, or whatever. But guns also cost money, and the guns the Uvalde shooter had cost a lot of money. Fox News’ Bill Melugin, who Media Matters recently outed as a “far-right propagandist,” is still wondering how the shooter was able to afford that much hardware.
One question that hasn’t been answered yet…
Where does an 18-year-old unemployed high school drop out get the money to buy two AR style rifles w/ hundreds of rounds of ammo & magazines?— Bill Melugin (@BillFOXLA) May 26, 2022
Good question.
Especially with ammo prices these days.

These were Daniel Defense AR’s. Over $2k each.

They are Daniel Defense rifles too, which are super god damn expensive even second hand. He even had eotech sights on them too if I remember correctly, which are also super expensive for what they are.

Not to mention a $700 optic.

One of the rifles was a quality brand. There are many value priced rifles that are 1/3 the cost. I would imagine one of the rifles was over 2 grand considering optics. Not to mention magazines, body armor and ammo.

That’s my question exactly; they claimed he didn’t have money for clothes and fought his grandma over paying some of the phone bill but somehow purchased guns and ammo that are expensive especially now. What store sold him the gun? What did he pay with?
Ask more questions.

I noticed this too. How does a unemployed 18 year old who apparently comes from such a poor family afford a Daniel Defense rifle which is over $2,000 and i pretty sure he had another Ar-15 platform but not sure of the brand. Thats over 3-4 thousand dollars worth of kit.

From working at the Wendy’s drive-thru?
The Sun reports:
[Wendy’s co-worker Grace] Cruz exclusively told The US Sun that Ramos openly talked about how he was using the money from the job to buy guns and ammo and suddenly quit weeks before the school shooting after making enough.
It has been estimated that the teen would have spent around $4,000 on his weapons, ammunition and tactical-style vest.
One of the weapons the gunman bought was an $1,870 Daniel Defense weapon which he reportedly posted a receipt for on Yubo.
…
Cruz revealed to The US Sun that Ramos bragged to co-workers about what he intended to do with his work income.
“He told us he was saving up money for guns and ammo. We would ask him, ‘Why would you spend your money on that, spend it on a car or something useful,’” Cruz said, adding that Ramos quit after he had saved enough.
If he was saving up for guns and ammo, he must have been planning something well in advance.
And a $70k+ truck!

@Iraqveteran8888 asked the same question. That’s over $5,000 worth of equipment.

Good questions indeed. Maybe a three letter agency can answer them? 🤷🏻♂️
