On Wednesday this week, a U.S. appeals court ruled that California’s ban on the sale of semiautomatic weapons to adults under 21 is unconstitutional. “America would not exist without the heroism of the young adults who fought and died in our revolutionary army,” Judge Ryan Nelson wrote.”
The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence sent around a press release decrying the decision, calling it outrageous and without precedent.
Brady: "This ruling is outrageous and without precedent. Americans have the right to enact strong laws… and the Second Amendment was never intended to force us all to live in the gun lobby’s guns-for-everyone-and-everywhere dystopia." pic.twitter.com/pkY9K87w0k

Dystopia?
"Increasingly in gun litigation, thoughtful analysis is being replaced by extremist ideology, history is disregarded for 'alternate facts,' and what used to be fringe, extremist gun lobby rhetoric is becoming constitutional law."

"Decisions like this will create chaos, especially if the U.S. Supreme Court reinvents Second Amendment regulations in deciding NYSRPA v. Bruen this spring. Common-sense gun laws are under attack, and we cannot allow an extremist ideology to roll back these public safety laws."

"The fact that young adults used guns in well-regulated revolutionary armies, as the Court noted, does not mean that 21-year-olds in 2022 have a Second Amendment right to purchase a semiautomatic weapon to use as they see fit."

That fact might not, but the Second Amendment does.
"The second amendment was never intended to keep us from restricting guns"
Umm…that's exactly what it was intended to do.

They know gun ownership is rising and they’re freaking out

They’re freaking out about “extremism” over 18-year-olds in California being able to buy AR-15s.
They are growing increasingly unhinged

So Democrats want 16 year olds to vote and 18 year olds not allowed to own firearms.

In 2019, 125 House Democrats voted to lower the voting age to 16, and some have argued voting is like “training wheels” for civic involvement and the age should be lowered to 13 or 14. Jill Filipovic had it exactly backward when she said we should lower the voting age to 16 and raise the age to buy a firearm to 30.

We can’t allow 18 y/o’s to have firearms, but your 16 y/o can get an abortion without parental knowledge. This makes sense?
