Bulwark editor Bill Kristol throws National Review off the Principled Conservatism™ bus

We noticed that The Dispatch didn’t figure into Bulwark editor-at-large Bill Kristol’s tweet, which is interesting. As Twitchy reported, it was just a couple of days ago when The Dispatch’s David French let us know who he’d be calling “conservative” from now on:

Now, just a few days later, it looks like Kristol is doing something similar in calling out who’s a Romney or Reagan conservative (why would he ever use those two names in the same sentence?) and who isn’t, and apparently, National Review is getting chucked out with Ben Shapiro and Govs. Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis.

A guy associated with The Bulwark is throwing National Review under the bus? Where does conservatism come in in this scenario? By more conservative do we mean who gets in line at the polls first to vote for Joe Biden a second time?

Yes, Kristol used to write for National Review.

National Review, which ran a whole issue on “The Case Against Trump,” is too close to DeSantis? What?

We can’t wait to hear someone from The Dispatch weigh in on this take.
