CNN's head of strategic communications follows up that 'bracing for success' tweet from last month

As you know by now, Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to pull the plug on paid subscription service CNN+ only a month after it launched. A lot of people in media are cautioning us about gloating — these are people who worked their tails off only to have the rug pulled out from under them … after selling a ridiculously small number of subscriptions. We pointed earlier to a tweet from CNN head of strategic communications Matt Dornic that hasn’t aged very well.

Glenn Greenwald reminds us:

Dornic has found someone at whom to vent his frustration, but we’re featuring this tweet because Dornic puts “report” in quotation marks in reference to Gasparino’s tweet, which turned out to be 100 percent true.

It is kind of said. They’re all blaming new management for pulling the rug out from under them as if they were on the cusp of adding a few million subscribers if they just hung on for another month or so.
