President Joe Biden put his pants on today to go outdoors and sign the Emmett Till Antilynching Act into law. The legislation had been pushed hard by Sen. Corey Booker and then-Sen. Kamala Harris. At last, lynching is considered a hate crime.

That’s perfectly fine. But of course, Vice President Kamala Harris had to claim that “lynching is not a relic of our past” and turn the whole thing stupid.
Kamala Harris: "Lynching is not a relic of the past. Racial acts of terror still occur in our nation and when they do we must all have the courage to name them and hold the perpetuators to account."

Remember, of course, that Harris had called Jussie Smollett’s attack a modern-day lynching because he had a piece of clothesline around his neck as part of the act.
.@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery.
This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.

Hey @KamalaHarris, do you still stand by your Jussie Smollett tweet?
Do you still consider what happened "a modern day lynching?" pic.twitter.com/X8XJOOxBFO

We have done posts on “lynchings” that turned out to be suicides, although Donald Trump was blamed for a black Muslim teen who hanged himself in 2017. People seem almost anxious for a lynching. But as Harris said, it’s not a relic of the past.

Yes it is

Would be interesting if she was pressed for specifics.

Jussie Smollet is the last one she talked about….

kamala is still searching for jussie’s attacker

Jussie Smollet at his sentencing saying “if anyone attacks me it wasn’t me” is the most Jussie Smollet thing ever.

The last lynching was in 1981 and lynching was already illegal in every state.

Be super hard on hate crimes but the last lynching in the US was 1981 to be precise.

Uh, it hasn't happened in 40 years. That's the past.

Is she referring to Bubba and his garage door pull again?
— RMB (@rms432) March 29, 2022
Yeah, didn't something bad happen to that guy just trying to get a Subway sandwich in the middle of a blizzard? And that racecar driver, too?
— Gracie4258 (@Tradergracie) March 29, 2022
I'm surprised they didn't trot out Jussie Smollet for the signing. Virtue signaling morons

The demand for racism in this country far outpaces the actual supply. This is why we see so many false flags from leftists that believe there is no higher honor than being part of the victim class…even if you have to fake it.
— chickenranch (@chickenranch8) March 29, 2022
Nobody has been lynched in decades. Racist violence is already a federal crime, to include lynching. Lynching is already illegal. No part of this bill is necessary. It will achieve precisely nothing. It's just a stunt.
— SamuelDaButcher (@SamuelDaButcher) March 29, 2022
But Biden can say it’s part of his legacy that lynchings are now a hate crime. Because Biden is the least racist person there is.
