In his column last week, Thomas L. Friedman took a shot at the right-wingers who suggest President Joe Biden wouldn’t know AARP from NATO and saw a future where Vladimir Putin backed off from Ukraine because Biden had “matched every Putin chess move with an effective counter of his own.” Are we talking about the same Joe Biden who said Thursday that “no one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening” right after a speech announcing a new round of sanctions?
