As Twitchy reported earlier Tuesday, Joy Reid … wait, we mean Rep. Maxine Waters … tweeted, “I have been hacked and my Twitter account has been erased. I know who has done this. I will take care of this. M Waters.”

That was odd because we and others checked both of Waters’ accounts and neither had seemed to have been erased — her pinned tweet from 2017 still invites followers to meet President Donald Trump’s “Kremlin Klan” — no obsession there.
Mikael Thalen, tech reporter for The Daily Dot, got in touch with Twitter, which said it had identified “no signs of account compromise.”
Twitter tells me it has "open lines of communication" with Waters' office & "have worked with them to ensure the account is secure."
