As National Review’s Jim Geraghty noted earlier, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were pictured once again socially distanced and wearing masks … five months after their second vaccination shots. A lot of people have been criticizing Biden — and rightly so — for giving the impression that the vaccine is essentially useless because you still have to wear a mask and socially distance. If he wanted to encourage people to get vaccinated, he would have stopped wearing the mask, but, you know, theater.
Now that the CDC has announced that you can take your mask off if you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19, President Biden has changed tack and laid out what sounds like an ultimatum:
The rule is now simple: get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do.
