OK, it feels like we just went over this, because we just did. The Washington Post had an opinion piece Wednesday wondering if the revenge porn that forced Katie Hill out of Congress would have had the same effect on a male member of Congress, or would he be able to get away with it.
The answer was obviously no, but CNN’s Chris Cuomo had on #MeToo champion Alyssa Milano to discuss the Hill case.
Actress @Alyssa_Milano: “If Katie Hill were a man,” he wouldn’t have needed to resign for having an affair with a staffer in violation of House rules.

That is literally not true.
— Chuck Warren (@SilverBulletLLC) October 30, 2019
That is such a lie. Many men have been forced out for this. And now it's against the rules.

These people think reality began 15 min ago.

Mark Souder would beg to differ. “On May 18, 2010, Souder announced he would resign from Congress effective Friday, May 21, after admitting to an affair with Tracy Meadows Jackson, a married female staffer.” https://t.co/B4kqPhZYPF

GOP Rep. Chris Lee was forced to resign in 2011 over an affair discovered via a Craigslist ad where he appeared shirtless. That wasn't even a violation of House rules.
In both cases (IMHO), the respective House speaker, didn't need the headache and forced the member out. https://t.co/Ly9mcY4ohx— BooScum George (@RobGeorge) October 30, 2019
8 Congressmen & 1 Congresswoman between 10/17 and 4/18 resigned over sex scandals; good riddance to ALL
Al Franken, Minn
P Meehan, Penn
B Farenthold, Tex
E Esty, Conn
R Kihuen, Nev
T Franks, Ariz
J Conyers, Mich
J Barton, Tex
T Murphy, Penn@Alyssa_Milano Google is USEFUL, TOOL!— Bill Larp-Smith (@Bill_LarpSmith) October 30, 2019

It depends on party affiliation. Gerry Studds remained long after an affair with a 17 year old staffer, Mark Foley resigned for inappropriate messages.

“And up next we have congressional ethics expert @Alyssa_Milano to discuss the Katie hill situation.”
— Scotty Fed (@yofed2) October 30, 2019
Fighting for the right to … sexually exploit underlings and violate ethics guidelines?
— Senator Tim Allen (@senator_tim) October 30, 2019
If Katie Hill were a man he'd be facing charges, and a sexual harrassment lawsuit.
— Estebon Martinez (@Estebon_M) October 30, 2019
If a man had an affair with his staffer you would accuse him of sexual harassment.. Milano is a nut job!
— ??RN PATRIOT?? (@rnlisa64) October 30, 2019
You are so full of shit. If it were a man he would have been crucified
— Lisa Anne (@Lisa_anne66) October 30, 2019
False. If Katie Hill were a man he’d be labeled a predator and the face of the #MeToo movement. She got off too easy.
— Matthew (@GreatAgainMatty) October 30, 2019
Well, next time a Congressman is exposed in a photo naked brushing a young staffers hair, we will see about that won't we? This is next level stupid.
— Karen N (@KarenN101) October 30, 2019
allowing superiors to sexually harass employees to own the cons
— sdclaycamp (@sean_claycamp) October 30, 2019
Yes, because all woke women fight for the right of a Congresswoman to have an affair with a Congressional staffer in violation of a rule adopted to stop this very thing. You think maybe Pelosi told her "time to go"?
— JimBobLAX (@JimBobLAX) October 30, 2019
Take it up with Pelosi.
— SJakeSher ?? (@2scottsherrill) October 30, 2019
Katie Hill's situation is nobody's fault but her own. Nice try by the ultra-partisan @Alyssa_Milano at blame shifting, and as usual, trying to make one of their effed up liberal politicians the victim.
— Durham Is Coming (@MiddleAmericaMe) October 30, 2019
Al Franken resigned for less. Alyssa is a moron.
— ??Kelly?? ??? (@Bukolo) October 30, 2019
I thought Alyssa was big into MeToo. She should be happy Katie quit
— Michael D Lawson (@MDlawson7) October 30, 2019
MeToo was a scam then? Got it.
— Nathan the Internet Sherpa (@StealthNathan) October 30, 2019
Wait I’m so confused…. You all fight for equality and now You want to play the sexist card?
She violated article 18 of the ethics rules that were started from the metoo movement. Karma is a bitch
Goodbye #KatieHill @ChrisCuomo
— Truth Love & Covfefe (@TLC3Publishing) October 30, 2019
Alyssa Milano totally ok with ethics violations as long as it’s a woman ??♀️
— Tribalism Is Whack (@LainWalk) October 30, 2019
The victim was a WOMAN. Guess #MeToo is now gone?
— antoinette@eatcake (@antoinette2645) October 30, 2019
What a hypocrite.
— A (@mak1981atoka) October 30, 2019
So abusing your position to get sex from employees is just fine with liberal nut job Milano ?
— Liberty Doc (@libertydoc82) October 30, 2019
I encourage all male politicians to sleep with their campaign aids while still married, while also engaging in drugs and sexual debauchery! Alyssa Milano approves!
— Malakai1001 (@Malakai10011) October 30, 2019
"If Katie Hill were a man, he would have brushed the woman's hair with a power tool of some sort. Maybe a cordless drill."
— Matt (@Xenos_on_ice) October 30, 2019
Seriously pathetic. Let’s not forget Alyssa at the Kavanaugh confirmation. She is pathetic
