As Twitchy reported, Rep. Steve Cohen called Attorney General William Barr a chicken for not appearing before the House Judiciary Committee following a dispute between Republicans and Democrats over the format. And in case calling Barr a chicken wasn’t enough, Cohen brought with him a prop chicken to sit on his desk. And in case that didn’t get the point across, he also brought in a bucket of KFC and started chomping on it.
Now, talking to CNN’s Chris Cuomo, Cohen admits that maybe the whole chicken stunt was probably a bit overboard and didn’t “picture well.”
Can we just go ahead and say it? Nothing Cohen poses with in his mouth or otherwise is going to “picture well.”
Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen on his infamous KFC stunt says the "the bucket was probably a bit overboard" adding "I shouldn't have eaten it. It didn't taste good and it didn't picture well." https://t.co/O0YFE6bWch pic.twitter.com/Nz8R2hzzgs

I have to agree with Steve Cohen there.

Shouldn’t we expect more from our congressmen? And please don’t point to other bad behavior

Maybe it’s just me, but I expect a certain level of professionalism by US government elected officials.

That guy is an embarrassing clown.

Now he puts down tasty chicken when the visual was his fat mouth learning how to eat. Don’t blame the bucket, blame that ball of puss between your ears.

It was a clownish thing to do about a matter that is so serious.

It's embarrassing when republicans do it, it's embarrassing when democrats do it.
Stop treating the House like a frat house.

It's because he's playing to the photographers that's the problem. These unprofessional actions make them look like clowns. I wish they would stop trying to get votes and do their jobs professionally!

Not to mention showboating is one thing we hate about politicians. If you can't be dignified while you work in Our House or Our Capitol, stay the hell home.

the Republican's couldn't have done better themselves
— Anne Flaherty (@annibute) May 7, 2019
I love that he did it. He guaranteed Barr won’t work with Dems at all and pushed him more toward Trump.

Eat Mor Chikin!
Oh it went over just fine. I work in his district. He has blocked me from his twitter account but calls AG Barr a chicken.
I hope every voter in his district saw it and now know what a clown he is. Memphis is one of the most dangerous cities in the country. He's done nothing.— James Miller (@JRMTNDAD) May 7, 2019
He’s a lunatic. ?????
