World pretty jazzed that Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue includes model in a hijab and burkini

It would normally seem strange for a high-fashion magazine like Vogue to care what’s happening over at Sports Illustrated with its annual swimsuit issue, but this year, SI is breaking new ground by featuring a Somali-American model wearing a hijab and burkini.

Just for comparison purposes, here’s another model with whom she’s sharing the issue; Sports Illustrated certainly isn’t leaving the skin behind.

This is the West attempting to normalize oppression. The entire point of the hijab is modesty. So to not sexualize/objectify women. But then she poses for a magazine that sexualizes/objectifies women? FFS. This is like someone claiming to be a Christian…
