Sen. Ed Markey says Mitch McConnell is trying to 'sabotage' the Green New Deal by calling a vote

As Twitchy reported Tuesday morning, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was making noises that he was considering taking up the Green New Deal for a vote, thus forcing Democrats to put their names behind that mess.

Sen. Ed Markey, one of the co-sponsors of the Green New Deal, claimed in a tweet later in the day that McConnell was trying to “sabotage” the climate change movement by rushing a vote through.

Senator, do explain how a floor vote of your own resolution is sabotage. Personally I think you were posturing with the resolution and never expected to vote on it. Now you can anger your newly radical base or scare off average, independent Americans. The choice is yours.

Why would you submit a plan that you weren’t prepared to have a vote? So this is how it should work. You do your homework. Socialize your plan with both sides Dems and Reps. Adjust your plan to gain support. Then submit and vote. Vs grandstanding & crying when they decide to vote
