President Trump shook hands with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and handed her a copy of his State of the Union address before taking the podium, but is that what she was reading while he was giving the speech? At least she wasn’t sucking on her teeth like she did during the last State of the Union address, but what had her so engrossed?
Let the amazing Pelosi paper-reading memes begin! #SOTU

Nancy Pelosi brought reading material to the #SOTU in case she gets bored. pic.twitter.com/ih4BSQjZQB

Honest question: what is Pelosi doing back there? She seems to want intentionally to be seen reading and not paying attention; she sits down late when she stands at all, etc. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her whip out her cell phone and start texting while eyeing the camera. #SOTU

Pelosi’s poker face broke when he started saying investigations are bad for America, then started just reading some paper instead of pretending to listen. Seems she gives hand signals to the Dems on how to react. #SOTU2019 pic.twitter.com/wKob9zAQHk

Pelosi appears to be reading behind Trump. Is that a copy of the speech?

Have you noticed how Pelosi keeps holding the text of the speech & reading along?
She takes her time setting it aside before standing to applaud – even for universally acceptable lines.
She comes across as petty and juvenile.

Pelosi reading the next Harry Potter. #SOTU.

Is Pelosi reading blank piece pieces of paper???
Or is she reading something before she signs it for once?#SOTU

Did… Pelosi lose her pen or something? She just stood up for a moment and went through her papers.
— Jim Geraghty (@jimgeraghty) February 6, 2019
Nancy Pelosi, sitting behind the President, looking like a mental patient by bizarrely holding up pieces of paper and reading them. Only person who actually needs notes to refer to just to sit there and listen. #sotu

Nancy Pelosi looks like she’s really into reading something else. Maybe Ted Bundy’s Wikipedia page.

I think Pelosi is reviewing her phone bill. #SOTU2019

She needed something in her hands to give her an excuse not to applaud anything.
