As expected, Sen. Kamala Harris waited until Martin Luther King Day to announce her run for president in 2020, and not surprisingly, CNN announced that Jake Tapper would be hosting a forum with Harris next Monday in Iowa.
We’re kind of left wondering when the CNN forums are scheduled for the Democrats who announced before Harris, such as Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Julián Castro, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and more we can’t think of at the moment. Why does Harris get to go first?
“Dilbert” creator Scott Adams says the media giants have already decided the next Democrat nominee:
One year from now, Democratic voters will believe they made up their own minds to choose Harris as their nominee. Nothing like that is happening. The media giants have chosen Harris (obviously), and now they are assigning that opinion to their persuadable audience. https://t.co/R9hTVdLdaA

CNN chose Sen. McCain for the GOP in 2008. They chose Sen. Harris for the Dems in 2020.

And you could make a really strong argument that the media chose Donald Trump as the GOP nominee in 2016 — something the Hillary Clinton campaign was hoping for … an easily beatable opponent.
Same fix will be in for her as for Clinton, for the same reason and by mostly the same mechanic.

Fact check: True. The media is obsessed with spin and narrative.

Exactly right. This is the “implantation” phase.

What odds would you give that she becomes the nominee?
— Nick (@ysoh) January 21, 2019
Can't rule out unexpected surprises about her past, but otherwise 95%.
— Scott Adams (@ScottAdamsSays) January 21, 2019
We’d guess one of those unexpected surprises would be Joe Biden announcing, but who knows?

I'm surprised you're only giving Beto a < 5% chance. The media fawns over him.

Do you think she has what it takes persuasion wise?
— Enrique el Humano (@eggstraordinair) January 21, 2019
In an Obama way, yes.

Then it's going to be fun

I think it will be boring. What platform do they have besides being anti Trump and pro open borders?

Dude, the rhetoric is about to reach the 8th dimension of shrill. CNN's pouty, sad eyed shaky head facial expressions will be accompanied with the kind of music usually reserved for WW2 movies about the holocaust… The surreality will make David Lynch go, "Not worthy…"

This sort of thing was never so obvious as in 2016 when the clearly preferred Bernie Sanders got mowed down by Hillary, but some of us remember 2008 when Hillary got shoved aside when the press decided to get behind Obama.

Truth, I've already seen 6 paid ads promoting her on Twitter alone just today.

And left media is again underestimating Trump. They will never learn: – "Trump’s chances of reelection entered a death spiral. She is everything he is not" https://t.co/0dvGp3dODj

I predict the media turns on her with a couple weeks to go in the 2020 election to keep 4 more years of good ratings.

Why doesn’t the media just tell us who they want us to vote for and how to live.
Get rid of all pretext.
