Here’s a take on Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s “bombshell” letter we don’t believe we’ve seen before. If Republicans were sitting on that, you have to ask yourself, what else are they sitting on? At least that’s the take of Mic’s senior political reporter, Emily Singer.
This Kavanaugh allegation begs the question: If Republicans were sitting on this, what else are they sitting on?
— Emily C. Singer (@CahnEmily) September 14, 2018
Teach people what “begs the question” means. FFS. https://t.co/UXWc7eS7rH
— Imperial Buttload (@MetricButtload) September 15, 2018
First, that isn't a proper use of "begs the question." #journalisming You people should be ashamed.
— Gerry Daly (@GerryDales) September 14, 2018
That allegation raises a question, it does not beg one.
— Rob Major (@RobMajor4) September 15, 2018
1) That's not what begging the question means.
2) Your assumption that Republicans were sitting on this is what begging the question means.— Grant Bosse (@grantbosse) September 14, 2018
BINGO.
Here for the ratio.
— neontaster ??? (@neontaster) September 14, 2018
It 'begs the question', how low and ridiculous will the Democrats go?
— Wisconservative (@CarterFliptMe) September 15, 2018
They’re sitting on the edge of their seat waiting to refute the next dirty trick DiFi pulls out of her bag.
That they were so completely ready for an unfounded sexual assault allegation shows they’re learning
— Toxic Miscuelinity (@Dave_DelFavero) September 15, 2018
The Democrats were sitting on it too.
— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) September 14, 2018
Maybe Mic should send a reporter to cover that.
If Republicans were sitting on this (which there's no evidence they were) then the charge (which there's as yet no evidence of) is even more evidence (it's not) that he shouldn't be confirmed (he will be). https://t.co/9VMuwHvr35
— Ben (@BenHowe) September 14, 2018
Feinstein is the one who sat on this.
— EducatédHillbilly™ (@RobProvince) September 14, 2018
Seems to me it was Sen Feinstein that was sitting on it.
— Jules of Denial (@Coolish_Breeze) September 14, 2018
Feinstein did not tell Republicans. Sat on letter rather than send to committee.
— Dev Woolwine (@ddwoolwine) September 14, 2018
it was Feinstein that was sitting on this for months
— Harris Folk (@hsfolk) September 14, 2018
Umm, ackshually DiFi was sitting on it. pic.twitter.com/KB4pCACxIA
— Mrz.T (@MaeTellu) September 15, 2018
The only person sitting on anything was Feinstein. https://t.co/7i6bhYxiiV
— RBe (@RBPundit) September 14, 2018
Diane Feinstein, welcome to the GOP https://t.co/MPLUb4I5dq
— (void *)0 (@RapidoPC) September 14, 2018
Holy Stupid Take, Batman. Feinstein sat on it. Feinstein, you illiterate dolt.
— Rusty Weiss ??? (@rustyweiss74) September 14, 2018
Why did Feinstein sit on this since July despite numerous opportunities to bring it forward?
— Randy Hughes (@randeez72) September 15, 2018
I’m an accountant from Cincinnati and even I know @SenFeinstein and @RepAnnaEshoo received letters from anonymous accuser in July. What’s wrong with you? https://t.co/nEgFWqs4E1
— Susan Reif (@susanmreif) September 15, 2018
Why aren't you mad that @SenFeinstein let that poor woman suffer since July? https://t.co/PvjpWn4t0z
— Bill (@Billyjack70) September 15, 2018
Begs the question: if @SenFeinstein sat on this since July does she really care about women victims? https://t.co/PvjpWn4t0z
— Bill (@Billyjack70) September 15, 2018
If Democrats are sitting on something like this, why release it a week before a committee vote in some vague way that can't be refuted or proven, rather than during the hewring circus last week? Answer that Ms. Singer.
— Chase Murray (@c_murrayiii) September 14, 2018
This Kavanaugh allegation begs the question: if reporters report this kinda thing, are they really reporters? Do they ever go after anyone from their political side? This story should have come out months ago. It coming out without any investigation is politics. No high ground. https://t.co/sbAWqm6VLm
— John Vasquez (@mioaiuto) September 14, 2018
I'll fix it for you: If Democrats were sitting on this, what other lies do they have waiting to spring?
— marnes (@marnes) September 15, 2018
Oh my goodness, that is a great point. Who knows what sinister deeds from elementary school are being deviously hidden. Keep imagining.
— jdc (@jdc1217) September 14, 2018
He cut in 3rd grade lunch line!
— Dandy Truman (@DandyTruman) September 14, 2018
All they have to do now is make up any unsubstantiated allegation they want and you must prove it false. Then they demand to know what else you've done you're not even accused of yet. Journalism is on life support. https://t.co/dNvfLOpkIw
— Carl Gustav, President of Whataboutism, Inc. (@CaptYonah) September 14, 2018
I am privy to some very disturbing accusations against you Ms. Singer. I can't tell you exactly what they are, who told me of them, when or where it happened, or who made the allegations. Trust me you should just resign. If you attempt to defend yourself it means you're guilty.
— AshSolesFromTheFire (@ashsoles) September 14, 2018
The story that Emily Singer sells meth to school kids. Oh: you don't like anonymous preposterous stories? https://t.co/IAORJdcrX9
— Anthony Bialy (@AnthonyBialy) September 15, 2018
When did you stop beating your husband? I'll wait. https://t.co/K9KJapquCU

I'm kinda *hoping* for cannibalism. Not that I want someone to have been eaten, god no, but just that, since such stuff does on really superrare occasions happen apparently, I want him to have been a part of it. That's a spectacular plot twist. The yang to Hillary spirit cooking.
— Danko Ramone (@nullnotvoid) September 15, 2018
There's probably a dead body somewhere that they are covering up.
— Lucas House (@LucasHouse7) September 15, 2018
Maybe Brett Kavanaugh drank 6 drinks, drove drunk, crashed his car, almost killed someone, tried to flee the scene of an accident, and his Daddy the judge made sure he didn't serve time.
Oh, sorry. That was Beto O'Rourke.
— sunseeker1066 (@sunseeker1066) September 15, 2018
Is she serious???
— Shannon Duffy (@shannonbduffy) September 14, 2018
you’re a political reporter? ?????????
— Heidi (@HeidiL_RN) September 14, 2018
You're a senior political reporter and this is your take? Woof.
— KilroyFSU (@KilroyFSU) September 14, 2018
Delete this tweet. Unless Feinstein is a Republican all of a sudden. Can't believe you're a "Senior political reporter".
— Harley Kesselman (@harleykesselman) September 14, 2018
How do you have a job as a reporter when you're willing to simply lie about things like this?
— (((AG))) (@AG_Conservative) September 14, 2018
You keep acting more appallingly. Worst part is nobody's surprised.
