FAKE NEWS: CNN's Chris Cuomo calls Andrew Gillum "first African-American nominee for governor"

We actually saw tweets about this floating around Wednesday night, but we were hoping someone would come through with video or audio, and on Thursday Larry Elder delivered.

CNN’s Chris Cuomo, speaking with Don Lemon, thought that Andrew Gillum’s primary victory Tuesday night in the race for Florida governor was pretty historic:

And here’s a link to audio of the exchange:

Well, Cuomo technically withdrew from the race, but still … there’s a bit of family history there.

Maybe Cuomo should read CNN’s own website: “Democrat Andrew Gillum’s breakthrough victory in the Florida primary this week made him the party’s third African-American nominee for governor in 2018.”

But we’ll guess CNN will stand by their reporting, insisting that “in a major state” makes Cuomo’s statement true.

Edit: This post has been updated with additional tweets.
