‘Is this supposed to make me sympathetic?’ Detained migrants claim meals violate their religious beliefs

Remember when we were supposed to be shocked and saddened that students at Oberlin College were being given culturally disrespectful food in the cafeteria, with food service workers “modifying the recipes without respect for certain Asian countries’ cuisines?”

We found it awfully difficult to work up any sympathy for those poor students, and a tweet from The Hill Saturday had a similar effect.

“Some of the detainees are from India, Nepal, Guatemala, Mexico and China, according to the court documents,” The Hill reports, “which allege that Hindu asylum seekers were offered only beef and pork meals and were forced to attempt to subsist off scant vegetable portions.”

Liberals keep promising to leave the country because it’s gotten so bad but they never actually leave, and migrants just keep coming here despite how horrible it is, right down to the meals.

Well, that story backfired.
