That thrill up the leg you felt Tuesday evening was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews interviewing President Obama, who sat both for a solo interview on “Hardball” and as part of a panel discussing such topics as the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement.

The president did spend the second half of the program engaged in a one-on-one interview, but it was during the panel discussion that he took credit for “yanking” the economy out of crisis.

In the solo portion of the interview, the president almost succeeded in selling the idea that things are relatively peaceful worldwide.
