A lawyer being caught lying is not really big news, but we found a lawyer on Twitter who lied and got fact-checked by community notes and the response was so massive we felt it was story-worthy.
Ben Crump implied a nurse ‘weaponized’ her tears to try and hurt a young black man and STEAL his bike. There is just one problem with his version of the event, the pregnant nurse in fact DID pay for and rent the Citi Bike and had the receipts to prove it.
Twitter fact check was on the lawyer FAST and many others took notice and called him out as well.
This is unacceptable! A white woman was caught on camera attempting to STEAL a Citi Bike from a young Black man in NYC. She grossly tried to weaponize her tears to paint this man as a threat. What is actually unacceptable is trying to create racial tensions and hate when he KNOWS he is wrong. At the time of writing this piece, the tweet was still up but we did take a screenshot in case he comes to his senses and deletes it. THE INTERNET IS FOREVER!

BOOM! Was it a hate crime? You can watch the clip and decide for yourself after knowing the facts of the case, but the lawyer sure seems to be spreading a lot of hate in his tweet.

We saw plenty of people commenting that the nurse should sue Mr. Ben Crump, a lawyer, and hate tweeter.

We doubt he deletes it but we DID get the screenshot in case he does. If we learned anything from reading the Twitter fact check, we learned keeping RECEIPTS is very important.
You should be ashamed of yourself Ben, but you won’t be because you grift on hate. You’re racist and you don’t have an honest bone in your body. Fact checkers made that clear.

So, when you read that tweet it is easy to take it to mean Mr. Price was on the side of Mr. Crump, but if you look at his page and his bio we are pretty sure he was saying Mr. Crump was in the wrong. Unfortunately, Javon took some friendly fire, but we wanted to include him to be sure he knew some of us understood and he is RIGHT!

Look, the fact he tweeted that at all and still had it up at least 3 hours after getting fact-checked makes us think he is not a GOOD lawyer so the answer is, probably not.
