A viral video of a Little League moment that showcases the true spirit of sportsmanship has made the rounds this week.

The video, captured during the Little League Southwest Regional Playoff final, shows the batter going on to comfort the clearly rattled pitcher after taking what looks like a pretty hard pitch to the head.
Right-hander Kaiden Shelton of Pearland, Texas, was facing batter Isaiah Jarvis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Tuesday when an 0-2 pitch got away from him and slammed into Jarvis’ helmet. Jarvis fell to the ground clutching his head as his concerned coaches ran to his aid.
After a few moments, Jarvis’ head cleared enough for him to walk unaided to first base. Meantime, Shelton stood on the mound staring at the ground in tears over what happened.
After a moment, Jarvis walked to the mound and put his arms around Shelton, telling him, “Hey, you’re doing great. Let’s go.” Shelton’s teammates and coach gathered around the pair to join in consoling the young righty.
In a world that seems constantly bombarded with negative news, this is exactly the kind of thing we need to remind us that there is still hope as long as we are kind to each other.
What a wonderful gesture of kindness https://t.co/aSP8Ew23LK

Damn it – just when I ready to go full cynical twitter mode, you see a great act of humanity

Well done by both of these young men.
So heartwarming to see. Somebody raised a couple of good kids there. You have to care to be that upset about hitting the boy, and you really have to care and have a good heart to come over and hug the pitcher and console him after he accidently beaned you in the helmet. Special.
