Raise your hand if you’re totally confused by what the heck is going on with any and all of these investigations around Trump. Seriously. There is so much noise about everything that it’s hard to keep track of what is actually going on, especially with Michael Cohen.
Interestingly enough, Byron York shared a story from the New York Post where Michael Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, backpedaled on his claim as an anonymous source that Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting in advance.
When CNN reported Michael Cohen was willing to tell Mueller that Donald Trump knew about Trump Tower meeting in advance, @nypost called Lanny Davis. Davis 'said as an anonymous source that it was accurate.' Now Davis apologizing for not being 'clear.' https://t.co/WMu6ZO6pSY

From the New York Post:
CNN reported last month that Cohen was willing to testify to special counsel Robert Mueller that Trump knew in advance of the meeting, during which the Russian lawyer offered “dirt” on then-candidate Hillary Clinton.
When The Post called Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, at the time to confirm the report, he said as an anonymous source that it was accurate.
But Thursday, Davis, speaking on the record, apologized for confirming something he did not know to be true.
“I regret that I wasn’t clear enough to The Post. I should have been more clear. I could not independently confirm the information in the CNN story,” he said.
“I’m sorry that I left that impression. I wasn’t at the meeting. The only person who could confirm that information is my client.”

So wait, he was ok confirming that when he was anonymous?

Davis said the reporting got mixed up.
Alrighty then.
Sure, it was the reporting.
Clinton's former consigliere lied. Color me shocked.

Lanny Davis & Michael Cohen, what a pair. Recent reports make them both look like terrible attorneys.

Now this is a step in the right direction. Holding anonymous sources accountable when they say something on the record that directly contradicts what they told you off the record.
I think we'll see the cries of "fake noooos" dissipate a little.— Aaron Fried (@Yingeman) August 24, 2018
True story.
"Not being clear" = Lying.

Something like that.
Interconnected: Some of you have noted Lanny Davis registered as foreign agent to represent Ukrainian businessman/organized crime associate Dmytro Firtash, who also dealt with Paul Manafort and is fighting extradition to US. It's true. Davis job: 'Correcting record in the media.' pic.twitter.com/OXWx9fsuzN
