Uh-oh: Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar clashes again with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, this time over BDS

We all know that back in February, freshman congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared on stage, “I’m the boss!” — but if you ask us, it’s freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar who has the House Democrats on a leash. None of them dares criticize her, and they were so afraid to censure her for her anti-Semitic comments they passed a resolution condemning Islamophobia instead.

Ocasio-Cortez has already clashed with Speaker Nancy Pelosi: she visited her office only to lead a climate change protest, and Pelosi brushed off her Green New Deal as a “green dream.” She also clashed with Pelosi over Pelosi’s condemnation of Omar’s comments about Israel.

So there was no love lost when Speaker Pelosi broke ranks with other Democrats and not only spoke at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference, but condemned the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

Nic Rowan reports:

“We must also be vigilant against bigoted or dangerous ideologies masquerading as policy, and that includes BDS,” Pelosi said at AIPAC.

Omar, a vocal supporter of sanctions against Israel, responded later in the day by telling reporters on Capitol Hill that the BDS movement was an exercise of free speech.

“A condemnation for people that want to exercise their First Amendment rights is beneath any leader, and I hope that we find a better use of language when we are trying to speak as members of Congress that are sworn to protect the Constitution,” Omar said.

No one is trying to deprive Omar of her free speech rights; by all means, she should be loud and proud with her anti-Semitism.

Yeah, they all looked so chummy there.

Better yet, Republicans have made rumblings about putting a resolution against the BDS movement to a vote. That’ll be fun.

True. We never thought we’d see the day, but here it is. The freshmen are running the show and have nothing but contempt for the establishment, even in their own party.

How crazy is it that we’re rooting for Nancy Pelosi?
