Twitter reports building collapse in NYC, structure burdened by partygoers

Tweet from MSNBC. More news as it comes in.

Some of the tweets said that an object appeared to have fallen from an aircraft and hit the building, and that there were casualties. But none of the information could be confirmed early Sunday.

The third floor collapsed onto the second floor.

It happened at 451 Beach 72nd street in the Arverne section of the Rockaways.

Two people were rescued from the house, their conditions are not known.

Several others managed to get out on their own.

The collapse happened at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.
