Teen builds trike that travels 225 miles on one gallon of gas

17 year old built a three wheel hybrid electric car in an attempt to travel from New York to Washington on one gallon of gasoline. He completed his trip in 12 hours, arriving back here on Monday afternoon. He made the trip on 1. 25 gallons of gasoline.

Rami Bedewi, who is a student at Georgetown Prep, said there is no radio or music player in the car, but it did meet safety standards in Virginia for a one day permit. He traveled 35 miles per hour and drove mostly on back roads for the trip, leaving Jersey City at 5:30 a.m. on Monday. He even had a webcam hooked onto to the car.
