This Kindergartner Is Running Late For School, Still Finds Time To Show His Love For America

When Texas mother Heather Nelson dropped off her 5-year-old son at school towards the back of the carpool line, she wasn’t expecting to see him again when she pulled around the building.

“I was about four cars back so I just saw him standing there with what looked like him just looking at his shoes,” Nelson told WDAF-TV. “But that did not seem like Royce.”

Noticing a resource officer stationed near the entrance, Nelson flagged her down to ask what her son was doing. “Mom, he’s doing good, he stopped for the Pledge of Allegiance,” putting a hand over her heart to demonstrate.

Her son, who was running late, followed up the Pledge of Allegiance with a prayer.

“Since they do not have prayer in schools he says a little prayer silently and that’s exactly what he was doing,” Nelson wrote. “I was so proud that he stopped when the Pledge of Allegiance came and stood his ground and did not move as the other kids were going in.”

Nelson snapped a photo of her son, which has proceeded to go viral.

Doesn’t get any better than this.
