Earlier this week, the FBI released what they claimed was a full transcript of the Orlando shooting 911 transcripts – but redacted any mention of ISIS and changed the word “Allah” to “God”.
It’s just the latest example of the Obama administration refusing to name the threat America currently faces. And it’s not the first time this has happened.
Here are three other examples of the Obama administration avoiding Islamic phrasing:
1) Censoring French President Francois Hollande
During a meeting between the two leaders to discuss ways to defeat terrorism, the White House censored French President Francois Hollande when he used the phrase “Islamic terrorism” to describe the situation in Syria and Iraq.
2) Bowe Bergdhal’s Father
After the Obama administration recklessly swapped five Taliban members in exchange for defecting soldier Bowe Bergdahl, the White House held a ceremony in the Rose Garden with Bergdhal’s parents.
During the ceremony, Bowe’s father Robert Bergdahl declared, “Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahmim”, which translates to “In the name of Allah, the merciful, the compassionate.” That phrase was scrubbed from the official transcript.
3) The 2012 Youtube Video
Arguably their most egregious offense, the White House asked Google and Youtube to remove the video that had “allegedly” set off the Benghazi terrorist attacks.
Obama administration officials said Thursday that they have asked YouTube to review the video [that reportedly set off the embassy attacks] and determine whether it violates the site’s terms of service, according to people close to the situation but not authorized to comment.
