We Can All Learn Something From How This Grandma Uses Google

In what will likely go down as one of the most British things we’ll ever see, a UK grandson happened to see his grandmother’s open laptop and took a picture when he realized something peculiar about her Google search.

“She thought that by being polite and using her manners, the search would be quicker,” Eckersley told the BBC.

Ben’s grandmother, May Ashworth, was telling Google “please” and “thank you” every time she had a question for the search engine.

“I feel a bit stupid really ’cause I did it that way,” said Ashworth from her home in Greater Manchester, England. “I thought, well somebody’s put it in, so you’re thanking them.”

Both Google and Google UK chimed in on their Twitter accounts:

And of course, it wasn’t without parody:

Turns out the internet’s not all bad, at least when it comes to this grandmother and her Google searches.
