Wedding Artists Going To Court Over Gay Marriage...But It's Not What You Expect

In Pheonix, Arizona, two artists have taken initiative and filed a lawsuit against the city before anyone can sue them for “discrimination.”

Joanna Duka and Breanna Koski are Christians who refuse to create art that is racist, disrespectful of women, or, in this case, for gay weddings. A recent Phoenix law mandates that the women make art for gay weddings upon request, unless they give up their business.

Attorney Jonathan Scruggs wrote an op-ed defending the two. He said the women will work for anyone, provided they aren’t forced to promote anything that conflicts with their beliefs.

The pair own Brush & Nib Studio:

By filing a lawsuit against Pheonix, the business owners preemptively strike at the law before it is enforced on them.
