With two days to go before the U.S. House of Representatives chooses its next Speaker, Tea Party favorite Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, announced that he is formally running against the current Speaker, Rep. John Boehner.
Initial reaction to Gohmert’s tweet ranged from enthusiastic to rhapsodic:
@replouiegohmert @ffweekend FIRST VOTE FOR U HERE!

@replouiegohmert @ffweekend Good luck Sir; it is imperative that John Boehner be removed as Speaker; he has proven he is not up to the job.

Yesterday Ted Yoho, R-Fla., announced he is running for Speaker.
According to Daniel Horowitz at Breitbart.com, “It would only require 29 House members to depose current Speaker John Boehner.” If Boehner does not receive a majority of votes on the first ballot, the House will vote again until someone wins a majority.
