Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., admits he needs to learn more about genetically-modified foods. But he isn’t letting his ignorance prevent him from claiming that, under the status quo, food labeling is “often misleading.”

Oh? We would like to hear some specific examples.
If Sen. Booker has evidence that food makers are indeed using misleading labels, we suggest he get in touch with the appropriate regulatory agency. Somehow, we doubt any such evidence will be forthcoming.

Initiatives requiring mandatory GMO labeling have gone before voters in four states (California, Washington, Oregon and Colorado). All have failed. Maybe Sen. Booker thinks he will have better luck.
