Anti-semitic Turkish academic tweets in support of Treblinka death camp

That’s from the Twitter feed of Ali Ihsan Goker. His Twitter profile identifies him as a faculty member in Turkey. A Google search for “Ali Ihsan Goker” turned up this guy, who is listed as a Physics faculty member at Bilecik University in Bilecik, Turkey. Probably the same person.

Treblinka, for those who don’t know, was a killing center constructed by Nazi Germany in occupied Poland during World War II. It is estimated that Germans murdered between 870,000 and 925,000 Jews there.

Louis Fishman, the left-leaning academic to whom Goker was responding, was shocked by the vile, anti-Semitic comment.

Which led to this incredible response from Goker:

“I will assume your parents escaped Treblinka with error.” That is truly one of the most unhinged tweets we’ve seen, and — believe us — we’ve seen a lot of unhinged tweets.

The cuckoo-pants is strong with this one.

But Goker wasn’t backing down. Not yet, anyway:

After Fishman noted that he is a left-winger who supports Palestinians, Goker suddenly changed his tune:
