And why not? After all, it’s a very quiet and peaceful day on the international front.
Just be grateful Kerry didn’t show off an expensive water toy, such as a jet ski.

Update:
CBS News’ Boston affiliate says the Department of State says the report from CBS This Morning senior producer Mosheh Oinounou is completely made up:
Kerry spokesperson Jen Psaki denied the report.
“Since his plane touched down in Washington at 4 am, Secretary Kerry was working all day and on the phone dealing with the crisis in Egypt,” Psaki said in a statement.
Kerry was absent from a White House photo showing President Obama meeting with members of his national security team to discuss the situation in Egypt, but Psaki said he had dialed in on a secure phone line for that meeting.
“He participated in the White House meeting with the President by secure phone and was and is in non-stop contact with foreign leaders, and his senior team in Washington and Cairo.”
As of 10:21 p.m. ET, Oinounou has not run a retraction and has not removed his tweet.

We have modified our headline to clarify that the original report was based on a claim made by Oinounou. We will monitor this situation and will report any updates.
Update:
If Sec. Kerry was in Washington DC since 4 a.m. today, this Nantucket-based reporter must have been mistaken:

And why, if Kerry was in DC , did he participate in a key White House meeting by phone rather than in person?
Just wondering.
