Matt Drudge: ‘2014 is everything. EVERYTHING!'

Absolutely right. Democrats control the White House until at least January 2017. They have a majority in the U.S. Senate, which (let’s face it) they probably will retain beyond 2014.

The only remaining lever of power in GOP control is the House of Representatives, which is why the 2014 mid-term elections are so crucial.

Republicans currently hold a 33-seat majority in the House. To take control, Democrats will have to pick up at least 17 seats.

For what it’s worth, Emory University professor Alan Abramowitz says Democrats probably will fall short.

Given what is at stake, let’s hope so.
