Sears has decided not to advertise on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

Full comment:

“Thank you for your comment. Sears advertises on Nickelodeon however, we do not run ads on TMNT. The offensive comments made by Jason Biggs last week on his personal Twitter account are absolutely not in line with the values of Sears.”

The language is confusing — no one currently advertises on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, since the show is not yet airing — but it appears that Sears has decided not to sponsor the show when it debuts later this month.

Last week, Sears said only, “We do not condone this behavior and are looking into this further.”

If the retailer has now decided to proactively boycott Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that is a significant development. Just yesterday, a Sears customer service rep told Twitchy, “I have checked and see that Sears has not pulled its ads from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Up until now, The Colorado Rockies baseball team was the only corporate entity to distance itself from either Nickelodeon or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Sears and other advertisers have come under pressure from consumers who are outraged by Nickelodeon’s promotion of Jason Biggs’ misogynist, sex-obsessed Twitter page.
