NY Times reporter links wildfires to global warming

More than 10,000 Colorado residents have been displaced by wildfires. People in El Paso County, Colo., and elsewhere in the state are anxious and suffering.

So, naturally, it’s a great time to bring up global warming!

At least that’s what New York Times congressional reporter Jonathan Weisman seems to believe.

As you might expect, the global warming angle is popular among Twitter’s environmentalists:

President Barack Obama put forth a similar viewpoint last year, when discussing Texas’ wildfires:

“You’ve got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change,” Obama told donors referring to [Gov. Rick] Perry.

Back in Colorado, a few evacuees suspect arson.  Others are wondering if the federal government could have done a better job preparing its aerial tanker fleet.

Most, we suspect, are not especially interested in assigning blame right now; they are worried about their homes and just want to find someplace comfortable to sleep at night.
