You’ve heard of Ke$ha the pop star. Now it’s time to hear about Kesha the congressional candidate. Kesha Rogers, that is. She is a “LaRouche Democrat” who supports space exploration, reinstatement of the Glass Steagall Act, and the impeachment of President Obama.
She won Texas’ 22nd congressional district’s Democratic primary in 2010 and hopes to win again tonight against Democrat rival K.P George. To the consternation of Establishment Democrats, it appears that she has a good chance of doing just that:
Why in the world would anyone vote for that crazy Kesha Rogers over @Electkpgeorge?? Fort Bend has done our job. Come on Harris. #txprimary

The 22nd congressional district is heavily Republican. Rogers lost in 2010 to incumbent Rep. Pete Olson, 29.8% to 67.5%. Whoever wins the nomination tonight is likely to get walloped in November. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the spectacle of an Obama opponent sticking it to the Establishment Dems in Texas.
UPDATE: Rogers is reportedly still ahead, but a recount is possible:

Recount possible in CD-22, where Kesha Rogers, Dem who called for impeachment of President Obama, won by less than 100 votes. #txprimary
