As Twitchy told you earlier this week, when Ronan Farrow went to NBC with his bombshell exposé, the network reportedly turned him away. As it turns out, this episode may have just been one in a long series of NBC doing its part to bury sex scandals.
After remarking on disturbing similarities between Hollywood and the gymnastics “culture”:
Something is eerily familiar about the "culture" in gymnastics to the "culture" in Hollywood…except ours dealt with minors too. ?SMH

I'm hopeful that the "culture" in our sport is getting cleaned up as I hope it will in Hollywood. So sad that many knew (like in our sport)

But we're afraid and those that did speak out were shunned. I see a terrible pattern here…Time to CLEAN HOUSE EVERYWHERE!

Lots of good people in both gymnastics & Hollywood, but many stood by & were silent. Many even are still silent today in gymnastics. SMH

I heard one person in gymnastics say, "I have a reputation in this sport." Oh so that's why you won't speak up in support of the women? ?

Another person once told me (on the business side)…"I'm not close enough to the situation?" Do you really have to be to get the picture?

Former Olympic gymnastic gold medalist Dominique Moceanu shared an interesting story about her own experience with NBC News following the release of her memoir “Off Balance,” which shined a light on some of the ugliness — including abuse — in the gymnastics world:
Over the yrs I heard from various producers/reporters that @NBC tried to bury stories of abuse when my book came out & I was opening up…
— Dominique Moceanu (@Dmoceanu) October 12, 2017
I guess they didn't believe me. Producers told me, "yeah when I was working for NBC they told us not to go near your story." Makes sense now

I guess I won't be getting any love because I've been too honest… oh wait…

Like how @nbcnews tried to bury the Harvey Weinstein abuse scandal?

Exactly why I said it…? wide open. https://t.co/0GuUW5N2g0
— Dominique Moceanu (@Dmoceanu) October 12, 2017
Wow. Care to explain, NBC?

Update:
On Weinstein, NBC News president told staff "the notion that we would try to cover for a powerful person is deeply offensive to all of us"

NBC interviewed Juanita Broaddrick in 1999 & waited until Bill Clinton was acquitted before airing her rape accusations against him https://t.co/u04dPcy6Qa

Yeah, there definitely seems to be a pattern here …
