Any of you guys find Ana Navarro obnoxious as hell? That’s a rhetorical question, of course. You’d have to be insane if you didn’t.
But for some inexplicable reason, Ana seems to feel like she needs to remind us that she’s an absolute chore of a human being to be around.
Naturally, Ana had a take on the deadly Highland Park mass shooting yesterday, and naturally, her take was ridiculous and cringe:
How the hell does a guy who looks like Charles Manson’s spawn, has been on social media posting cartoons of himself shooting people dead, manage to walk around with a gun and a ladder and climb up the roof of a building, and not raise red flags? 🚩 https://t.co/7EuHUf7SW5

First of all, it seems awfully judgmental of Ana to be drawing conclusions about someone based on their appearance. So shame on her for that.
Plus it could end up proving to be quite problematic:
WGN Investigates has obtained an image of the suspected parade shooter dressed as a woman. Police say he wore the disguise to aid in his escape. https://t.co/KwPtulXno3 @WGNNews pic.twitter.com/GniP3CLBNA

Are you a transphobe, Ana? Answer the question, dear. It looks like it might be fair one.
Basing people on looks? Can’t see the slippery slope happening with that. https://t.co/acqCQVT2ii

It’s probably safe to say that Ana Navarro doesn’t get deterred by slippery slopes. The more slippery, the better.
We need red flag laws that make it very difficult for disturbed people to get guns! NOW! https://t.co/EJ7D0c1UOx

Well, as long as we’re on the subject of red flag laws:
Illinois has a red flag law. Chicago has every gun control law imaginable. https://t.co/wfRq0aaGov
— David Harsanyi (@davidharsanyi) July 5, 2022
So what, exactly, would red flag laws do in situations like this? Other than all but certainly be exploited, that is.
For the same reason you can’t just run around detaining anyone sporting gang colors and tattoos. They have to commit a crime first. https://t.co/PmUWM4KV5G

Or maybe Ana Navarro and pals don’t think the police should have any compelling legal ground to arrest you first. Given that Navarro et al. aren’t exactly huge fans of due process for their perceived ideological enemies, we don’t have a very difficult time imagining that they’d be totally down with some kind of “Minority Report”-style system of justice.
Which could never, ever backfire and be used against them, of course.
Anyway, needless to say, Ana’s suggestion that a red flag law — which, as David Harsanyi pointed out earlier, are already on the books in Illinois — or gun control measure would be the answer to the gun violence problem is highly intellectually dishonest. In other words, it’s typical Ana Navarro.
It’s almost as if none of the gun control laws stopped him, but they did leave the law abiding defenseless. https://t.co/02NdaBR8yu

How shocking that a guy willing to violate laws against murder is also willing to violate Chicago's plethora of anti-gun laws https://t.co/eRbMxAXPYo

How shocking that a woman willing to degrade herself at the Altar of the Resistance is also willing to make a complete ass of herself day after day.
