'Citation needed': Blue-checked environmental activist claims that health scientists say masking 'could virtually eradicate COVID in only 28 days'

Mohamed Safa is an environmental activist and proud “Permanent Resident at the United Nations.”

And apparently that makes him a de facto expert on immunology and epidemiology.

Here he is explaining to those of us who still don’t git it how easy it could be to virtually eradicate COVID19:

Let me explain this to those who still don't git it: Immunologists and epidemiologists saying wear a mask we could virtually eradicate COVID in only 28 days. But some folks went to high school who barely passed science say it's an outrage. And It's so hard to know who to believe.

It’s actually not hard to know who to believe. For example, we know not to believe Mohamed Safa, who has very clearly demonstrated that he is not to be taken seriously.

That simply can’t be true, in Denmark we wore masks in indoors public places for a period way past 28 days (funny how that is also the title of a zombie movie) and they did so in other EU countries as well (some even had quarantine for months), but it didn’t eradicate COVID-19

I think you'll find opinion amongst immunologists and epidemiologists is a little more varied than that, and that the actual evidence not so clear cut.

Apparently this guy doesn't "git it." We just had an entire fall and winter where wearing a mask in public was the norm regardless of mandates by government policy. We didn't come close to eradicating anything. The idea that masks would stop the virus is a falsifiable lie. https://t.co/Un4zitjAed
